How Things Change.

Since the top photo was taken in 2010, my life has changed immensely.

I have completed my university degree
Taken a year to be care free (unintentional rhyme)
Became and left 21
Moved away from home.
And moved back
Got myself a full time job. One that I would have never imagined myself to apply for, let alone really quite enjoy.
And because of this, have been able to fulfil those forever talked about plans
Experienced a nasty shock which made me realise that I wasn't always the best person, but I'm not the worst either
Started to learn to drive
Come to learn that spending time with my family is better than anything
And of course I have, like anyone else, experienced my fair share of 'heartbreak'. But let's not go down that ugly route.

I feel like I am about to embark on a terrifying but exciting chapter of my life. For the first time in a while I feel happier. I really feel like it's down to myself leaving a part time job and grabbing that bull by its horns! I actually have a bit of money to spend. I have been able to afford those driving lessons I've literally yearned for since I was 17. And for once. I feel like I have so much more to offer.

I feel that the most recent photo below really looks like I'm standing in the shadow of the other, reflecting upon a happier time. However to me, it looks like closure. The good sort. This place holds a LOT of happy memories for me and just being there brings a smile to my face.

Right. I think that's enough gushy ramblings of a mad woman for today! Cheerio!

The Autumn Tag

On the rare occasion that I have a morning off, I am sat wrapped up in my comfies in front of Loose Women with a fresh pot of Earl Grey tea. Its days like this that really make me look forward to those cold short days. It sounds strange, but I just love rainy days and awful weather.  Saying as I have seen this tag floating around, I thought I'd escalate my excitement.

1. Favourite thing about Autumn?
Walks. If only I had a dog. I love layering on my new autumn/winter threads and going for a country walk with the company of someone special. Feeling all cosy, snuggling up in front of the fire with warm drinks, treats and a good film. Making or coming in from the awful weather to steamy homely dinners. And of course, I absolutely love the run up to Halloween and Bonfire Night. This time of year is just so exciting, there are so many events to look forward to.

2. Favourite Drink?
Earl Grey tea, hot chocolate and caramel lattes.

3. Favourite Scent/candle?
I love spiced smells. I recently stocked up on ‘ Autumn Bliss‘ and ‘Kitchen Spice’ yanke candles in preparation for those chilly miserable days. I literally had to hide them away from myself to avoid the temptation of burning them early.

4.  Best Lipstick?
MAC Ruby Woo for all year round. It is truly my all-time favourite. However for Autumn in particular I love Revlons ‘cherries in the snow’ and Rimmel 1000 kisses lip stain in ‘very berry’. They are lovely deep pinky berry colours which are just perfect for this time of year.

5. Go to moisturizer?
I always stick to simples light hydrating moisturiser, I am far too scared to switch it up in case I get spots! However, we’ll see how this one caters to my skin in the upcoming cold wintery months. I may have to change it.

6. Go to colours for the eyes?
Neutrals all year round to be honest. I like copper tones and dark browns like MAC Embark in the crease and lighter neutrals for all over the lid (all that glitters is lovely). For a night out I’ll darken it up for a smokier more smouldering look.

7.   Favourite music to listen to?
This just depends on my current mood, not the season haha.

8. Favourite clothes/outfits to wear?
My favourite clothes are autumn/winter for sure. I absolutely love bottle greens, maroon burgundy wine colours. I love to wear my red and blue tartan scarves with a thick pair of leggings and my Chelsea boots.

9.  Autumn Treat?
I’ve gone a bit WILD with ‘treats’ lately (slaps hand) I’d have to say my tweed Barbour jacket which was an absolute find at my local Barbour Factory Shop.

10.  Favourite place to be?
Lets go with places…I love to be snuggled up on the sofa or outside near the golden trees and fresh autumn air. Cafes or shopping with my friends. I also love going to my grandparents, especially at this time of year. I’m not quite sure why haha I suppose it’s just always so welcoming and cosy there. Family time is a big priority of mine.

Thank you for reading I’m going to leave now to drink the rest of my tea and get ready to face the wind, rain and work, boo hoo.
I tag YOU.
